You can learn what is the Japanese Tea Ceremony, called Cha no yu or Sado, and participate in a ceremony. You will also learn basic etiquette to join a ceremony,
You don’t need to bring anything with you to come to a workshop.
Chanoyu Workshop
With a workshop, you will;
- learn about Omotesenke Chanoyu
- Learn tea ceremony etiquette
- Participate in a ceremony as a guest
- Make your own green tea drink
Green tea and sweets are provided. If you have any dietary requirements, please tell it at the booking.
*You will not be able to participate if you have a difficulty sitting on the floor.
Conditions of Chanoyu Workshop
Please read the following carefully before you book a place.
- You are expected to take off your shoes at the entrance of the premise.
- You are expected to wear clean white socks when you are in the tatami room. White socks are provided.
- Usual workshop involves sitting cross-legged on the floor for some time. You should also be able to sit down on and stand up from floor without help. You are welcome to bring your own meditation-style cushion.
- If you can’t do above, please do not book. In the future, I hope to run a table workshop for people who can only sit on a chair.
- A questionnaire is required to be completed by each participant. Without complete the questionnaire, your place cannot be confirmed.
